How to Let Teams Enter Their Own Match Results
In a league played across many venues, the organizer can't collect every result alone. Here's how to hand result entry to participants and stay in control.

In a league where matches are played at different venues and times, the organizer can’t be at every game. Results arrive by email, by text, or not at all. The solution is simple: let players and teams enter match results themselves, while the organizer only approves them. Here’s how to set it up without losing control of your competition.
When should participants enter results?
- Leagues with flexible scheduling: for example tennis, squash, chess, or darts leagues where players arrange matches themselves.
- Competitions across many venues: matches take place at different locations at the same time.
- Large tournaments: dozens of matches a day that the organizer can’t enter in real time.
How does the match management panel work?
The panel lets authorized people (players, team captains, or the tournament administrator) enter results and statistics for their matches. Data can be typed in by hand or added as a match report, which AI match report analysis processes automatically.
Logging in to the panel step by step
- Go to the panel login page.
- Enter the ID shown in the tournament or league window and the email address of the player, team, or tournament administrator.
- Click “Log in”: you’ll receive an email with a link to the panel.
- Click the link in the message and you’re in.
Players and teams see only the matches they take part in. The tournament administrator sees all matches.
How to enter match results in the panel
- Match list: the panel shows the participant’s matches. A result can be entered for matches that haven’t been closed yet.
- Result and statistics: the participant enters the result and player statistics. Once saved, the match gets the status “awaiting verification”.
- Approval: the organizer checks and approves the result. An approved match is locked, and only the administrator can make further changes.
How to avoid disputes over results
- Set a deadline in the rules for entering results, for example within 24 hours of the match.
- Specify who enters the result: the home side, the winner, or either party.
- Require a match report or a photo of the score card: in a dispute, there’s something to refer to.
- Approve results regularly: the “awaiting verification” status clearly tells participants the result isn’t final yet.
A ready-made rule for who enters match results
Most misunderstandings happen because the rules for entering results were never written down. You can paste the text below into your league rules and adapt it to your competition:
- The home team enters the match result in the player/team panel within 24 hours of the end of the match.
- The result must be accompanied by a photo of the match report or score card signed by both sides.
- The opposing team may dispute the result within 48 hours of it being entered. After that, the organizer approves the result.
- Failure to enter a result on time, despite a reminder from the organizer, may result in the match being recorded as a forfeit.
- A result approved by the organizer is final, subject to any decision of the disciplinary committee.
Remember to also state in the rules how many points and what score are awarded for a walkover or forfeit. Different sports use different conventions (for example 3–0 in football or 20–0 in basketball).
What does the organizer gain?
- Up-to-date standings without retyping: once approved, a result goes straight into the table and statistics.
- Fewer messages and calls: participants don’t need to track down the organizer to report a score.
- A change history: you know who entered a result and when, which makes disputes easier to settle.
- Scalability: the same workload for a league of 8 or 80 teams, because entering results is spread across participants.
